About Miami

Miami Beach occupies the one kilometre stretch of beach north of the North Burleigh Headland.

While wave quality along this stretch is highly variable, the Gold Coast Beach Nourishment Project recently delivered a large quantity of additional sand in the area, temporarily improving surfing outcomes during recent swell events.

Blessed with a wide and beautiful beach, a wide range of accommodation options and a host of beach shacks, Miami can remind you of the Gold Coast of old.

Founded in 1946, the Miami Beach Surf Life Saving Club was once known as the Ipswich Railway Surf Life Saving Club.

Miami is a cool place to visit with its burgeoning café and beach culture, the Miami Marketta, night time art and street food markets.
