Greenmount beach is the eastern end of Coolangatta Beach.
Greenmount beach is north facing, making the area more sheltered with calmer water ideal for swimming. Greenmount point is a coastal headland separating the Greenmount beach and the adjoining Rainbow Bay to the east. Walk along the paths of the oceanfront park on a sunny winter’s day and you may just spot the pods of dolphins and migrating whales.
The wide, sheltered beaches in the area have made this a popular holiday destination since the late 1800s and it is a slower pace than the bustling centre of the Gold Coast a half-hour drive away.
