Accessibility

The Gold Coast Beaches website has been designed with a wide variety of technologies and browsers in mind – including assistive technologies.

Language assistance

If you need an interpreter please call the Translating and Interpreting Service (TIS National) on 131 450 to speak to a City officer. To use this service you will need to tell them your preferred language. This is a free service for City-related business.

Please also refer to our resources in other languages for information in your language.

National Relay Service

People who are deaf or have a hearing or speech impairment can call the City through the National Relay Service (NRS). Give the City of Gold Coast number, 1300 465 326, you want to call.

Accessibility standards

Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, we must ensure that the information and services provided on our website are available to people with a disability. We are also committed to providing access to people with technical limitations such as low Internet connection speeds and older browsers.

To do this, our website utilises Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for page layout and formatting, and we continue to improve our compliance with the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) web accessibility standards. All content images on the site include descriptive alt attributes and all forms follow a logical tab sequence.

You can also use browser zoom (from the browser controls) on all our web pages to improve visibility of content.

If you encounter difficulties accessing our web content, please email us at mail@goldcoast.qld.gov.au.

Screen readers

Our website has been developed to also offer a menu for screen readers which enables users to skip to key content on the site, including navigation elements, City of Gold Coast services menu and footer links.
